Backpacks, Supplies Program Pitching In For Dutchess Students DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Needy students across Dutchess County will have school supplies thanks to the hard work of Dutchess County Government employees, City of Poughkeepsie employees and Marist College students. The group collected over 1,400 composition notebooks and school supplies as part of the "Backpacks, Supplies & More" program, according to Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro.  The school supplies will be distributed to local students who need them on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Christ Episcopal Church, 20 Carroll St., in Poughkeepsie.

Lister, who grew up in Yorktown and was living in Colorado, was 49 years old and would have celebrated her birthday Friday, July 14. Lister was hiking with her 16- and 20-year-old sons when she collapsed on the trail, according to the National Park Service.
