A hatchet-wielding 50-year-old man who forced an ex-girlfriend to have sex was sentenced to 25 years in New Jersey State Prison, authorities said. Julio Sigurani, Jr., of Deerfield, was sentenced on Monday, May 13, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-Mcrae. Sigurani was convicted at a trial of sexual assault and kidnapping, Webb-McRae said. The charges stemmed from a sexual assault that occurred on Aug. 13, 2020, in Deerfield. A man was accused of stealing a vehicle twice in about eight hours and getting caught by the same police officer in Atlantic City, authorities said. In a news release on Tuesday, May 14, the Atlantic City Police Department arrested 33-year-old Adam Ross of Absecon. He was charged with two counts each of theft and receiving stolen property. A Camden County man was airlifted to a hospital after crashing a pickup into trees in Ocean County, authorities said. Manchester Township police responded to the report of an overturned pickup on Horicon Avenue at around 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, the department said in a news release.
