The DPW issued an alert stating that the parkway will be closed from the Westchester County Center to the Cross County Parkway. The parkway was closed from the County Center to the Sprain Brook Parkway at 1:30 p.m. before being extended to the Cross County Parkway a short time later. Virginia Road in White Plains, which runs across the Bronx River Parkway, is also closed due to flooding.

The slow-moving storm is expected to bring heavy rain and wind to the area for several days. Officials said that there is a followup press release expected to circulate later in the afternoon with additional details. Check Daily Voice for updates as they become available.
