Two Wappinger CSD Schools Send Students Home Early

Students of Sheafe Road and Oak Grove Elementary schools in the Town of Poughkeepsie were released early Thursday due to a lack of running water from a water main break, according to the Wappingers Central School District.

Students weren't the only ones affected by the break, local residents in the area of Spring Road are also experiencing no water or low pressure, town officials said.

The town hopes to have the break repaired Thursday, but suggest parents check the school and town websites before reporting to school on Friday, the town supervisors office said.
