Dutchess County Seeks Proposals For Youth Services

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Duchess County Division of Youth Services is requesting proposals from municipalities and non-profit community-based organizations for the state Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) program funding for 2016.

Program funds will be awarded in the following categories:

•Youth Development Programs

• Runaway and Homeless Youth Act (RHYA)

The Dutchess County Youth Board’s funding priorities are based on the OCFS Life Areas that include: economic security, physical & emotional health, education, citizenship/civic engagement, family, and community.

Grants will be awarded to programs that provide free direct service to Dutchess County residents, up to 21 years old. Eligible agencies should be either municipalities or nonprofit community-based organizations with a federal identification number and charity registration.

A grant writing workshop for nonprofit agencies and municipalities will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Friday Nov. 6, 2015 at the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department Community Room, 19 Tucker Drive. To register, contact Karla Friedle at 845-486-3024 to confirm attendance. 

Grant application packets will be distributed at the workshop as well as a review on how to complete the paperwork. Grant documents will also be available online at www.dutchessny.gov under DCFS - Youth Services on Nov. 6.

All grants are due to the Division of Youth Services by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9. Agencies should allow for adequate mail delivery time for grants to arrive before the due date or should plan to hand deliver the grant applications.
