Woman Seriously Injured In Two-Car Town Of Poughkeepsie Crash

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 27-year-old Pleasant Valley woman was seriously injured in a two-car crash that resulted in an hours-long closure of Haight Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie on Monday, according to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police.

The crash occurred on the eastbound aerial of Haight Avenue to Raymond Avenue.

The crash occurred at 1:42 p.m. on Haight Avenue (eastbound arterial) at the intersection with Raymond Avenue when a 2017 box truck, driven by a 61-year-old Hopewell Junction man was traveling eastbound in the center lane when he slammed into the woman's 2007 Scion, that was traveling southbound on Raymond Avenue in the right lane, police said.

The injured woman was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital by Mobil Life Ambulance. 

The intersection of Haight Avenue and Raymond Avenue was closed for several hours while police investigated the accident, police said.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department was assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriffs Office, Arlington Fire District, and Mobil Life. 

The crash is still under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call 845-485-3680.
