Wappinger Man Driving With Loud Exhaust Charged With DWI, Police Say

FISHKILL, N.Y. – A 25-year-old Wappinger man is facing a felony driving while intoxicated charge after being pulled over for having a loud exhaust, according to New York State Police.

Ference P. Szova was stopped by a trooper on Jackson Street in Fishkill about on Saturday, according to authorities.

During the course of the traffic investigation, troopers came to believe that Szova was drunk behind the wheel. He was arrested at the scene and later issued several tickets ordering that he answer to the felony charge in Fishkill Village Court at 9 a.m. on July 18, according to police.

According to authorities, the drunken driving charge against Szova was upgraded to a felony because he was previously convicted of a DWI-related offense in 2014.
