Two Shot In Three Days In City Of Poughkeepsie

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two people were shot in the City of Poughkeepsie in separate incidents over three days, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.

The first person was shot twice around 10 p.m. Sunday on North Clinton Street, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark. 

The unidentified local man was shot once in the back once in the buttocks, neither injury is life-threatening,  Clark said.

Circumstances surrounding the shooting are being investigated, he added.

The second shooting took place around 1:54 a.m. Wednesday in the area of 47 Talmadge St., Clark said Clark.

Responding officers found an 18-year-old city resident with a single gunshot wound to his neck. The man is currently undergoing surgery. 

Clark said his injury is considered serious.

At the time of the shooting, there was a group of people in the area, he added.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed either shooting or anyone with information about the shootings to call the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department's Confidential Tip Line at 845-451-7577.
