The incident took place around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 on Clinton Street when two Hispanic males wearing black sweatpants and dark blue sweatshirts arrived at the home identifying themselves to be employees for the local water department, said Sergeant P. Capparelli.

The men then instructed the resident who answered the door to enter the bathroom alone, turn on the lights, close the door and turn on the faucet sink with hot water. The resident was advised to stay in the bathroom until the light went off, he said.

While the resident remained in the bathroom the two males went into several rooms in the residence and stole personal property. After some time passed, the resident exited the bathroom and observed property moved and missing, Capparelli said.

The resident was not sure if the men were traveling on foot or by vehicle.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Village of Wappingers Falls Police Department at 845-297-1011.
