Rudaina F. Murshed, 39, was arrested after the investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division, in conjunction with the Special Investigations Unit of the Dutchess County Community and Family Services Department, revealed Murshed received more than $5,315 in SNAP benefits between Feb 1, 2015, to April 30, 2016, said Capt. John Watterson.

Murshed is accused of stealing the benefits by concealing the fact that she had other outside income, something that would have made her ineligible to receive them, Watterson said.

She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on June 13.
