POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- New York State Police arrested Jerun Allen, 41, of Poughkeepsie, for alleged strangulation in the second degree.

On Nov. 7, state troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to respond to a physical domestic dispute in the Town of Wappinger. Allen allegedly choked a family member to the point of unconsciousness and fled before police arrived at the scene.

An investigation revealed Allen was scheduled to appear in East Fishkill Court for an unrelated incident on Nov, 19. He was taken into custody at his court appearance.

Allen was remanded to the Dutchess County jail and is due to appear in the Town of Wappinger Court on Nov. 23.
