Poughkeepsie Man Charged In Walmart Shoplifting Incident

ULSTER, N.Y. -- A Poughkeepsie man accused of stealing nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise from a Walmart store in Ulster is facing a felony charge, according to authorities.

In a Facebook post Thursday, Ulster police identified the suspect as Sean C. Grant.

Grant, 35, is accused of taking a shopping cart filled with assorted items stolen from the store at 601 Frank E. Sottile Blvd. According to police, Grant was arrested late Tuesday afternoon.

After his arraignment in Ulster Town Court, Grant was taken to the Ulster County jail, where he was held on $500 cash bail, according to police.

He is to return to court at a later date.
