WAPPINGER, N.Y. -- State police are looking for a man wanted in a 2013 check-cashing scheme.
Paul L. Nikola, 27, whose last known address was in Smallwood, a hamlet in Sullivan County, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny this spring, police from Troop K said.
A warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to show up in court to answer the charges, police said.
The scam took place in Wappinger and Beacon, police said.
Nikola is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Police are asking anyone with any information about Nikola or his whereabouts to call them at (845) 677-7300, or send an email to Crimetip@troopers.ny.gov.
