Police: Poughkeepsie Woman Steals Laptop From Dutchess Community College

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A Poughkeepsie woman was due back in court on Tuesday after allegedly stealing a laptop from the Dutchess Community College campus last year.

On Wednesday, Jan. 2, Poughkeepsie resident Maria Hernandez-Caballero was arrested by New York State Police troopers from the Wappinger barracks on a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny.

According to police, a lengthy investigation into the 34-year-old Hernandez-Caballero revealed that she stole a laptop computer from the Dutchess Community College south campus in September 2016.

Hernandez-Caballero was arraigned and issued an appearance ticket to return to the Village of Wappingers Falls Court on Tuesday.
