Watterson said the department's detectives had located the man and interviewed him and that "no crime had taken place and the matter was closed."

School officials and parents became concerned after the girl and her mother reported that a man in his 50s, driving a light blue four-door sedan, called for the student to come to his car as she was running on the school's track.

The child ran to her mother and both approached the man's car, but he drove away.

Following the incident, the district put out a notice to parents warning them of the incident.

Watterson said the department had closed the case and was happy with the results.
