Man Killed In Overnight Poughkeepsie Shooting

A man was shot and killed in an overnight shooting in the City of Poughkeepsie.

A 911 call placed around 12:10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19 reported a man down in front of 400 Main St. Responding officers the man with a significant injury to his head.

He was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital where the wound was confirmed to be a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The man has not been positively identified.

There were no witnesses in the area when officers arrived. However, there were people in the area when the incident occurred.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is asked to call the City of Poughkeepsie Police at 845-451-7577.

It was the fifth shooting in the city since Halloween night.
