Man Found Shot To Death In Vehicle On Poughkeepsie Street

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A City of Poughkeepsie man was shot and killed Tuesday on South Grand Avenue, according to City of Poughkeepsie Police Detective Lt. Matt Clark.

Police received multiple calls reporting the shooting at 9:46 a.m. in the area of 129 S. Grand Ave. When officers responded, they found the 42-year-old unidentified man in the driver's seat of a vehicle with multiple gunshots wounds, Clark said.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning. Clark said the shooting was not a random act of violence. The name of the victim is being with held pending family notification.
