Beacon Woman Critically Injured After Crashing Off Road, Into Tree

A 36-year-old Dutchess woman is in critical condition after driving off the roadway and into a tree in Ulster County early Saturday morning, state police said.

The crash occurred around 12:12 a.m. on westbound Route 44/55 at the intersection of Lucy Lane in the Town of Plattekill when Stephanie T. Green of Beacon was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, before exiting the roadway and striking a tree, state police in Highland said.

Green, who sustained serious injuries, was transported by Modena Fire and Rescue to Vassar Brothers Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition, according to police.

Investigation of the accident is continuing.
