POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Margaret Trojan, of Poughkeepsie, died Aug. 17. She was 100.
She was born Aug 7, 1916, in Poughkeepsie, where she lived her entire life.
She worked at Western Printing. After that, she was mainly a homemaker looking after her family but also worked as her husband’s secretary at Mid Hudson Oil Company. In her later years, she loved being with the children at Raymond Avenue and Arlington Middle Schools, where she worked in the cafeteria. She loved bingo, playing cards, her word search puzzles and casinos.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Testa and son-in-law John with whom she made her home. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Robin (Steve) Bogdanowicz, Justin Chiriatti and Brian Testa; four great-grandchildren, Joseph, Ian, Lily and Christian; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 218 Mill St., Poughkeepsie. Street-level and wheelchair accessible entrance is off Vassar Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin dePorres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Pougkeepsie. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
