POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Joseph R. Emmett, of Poughkeepsie, died on Wednesday, March 8. He was 81.
Emmett was born on Oct 6, 1935 in Poughkeepsie, to the late Joseph Emmett and Lillian O'Dell. He married Barbara Watkins in Poughkeepsie in 1967 and predeceased him on March 15, 1997. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Emmett is survived by his son Brian Emmett of Poughkeepsie, daughters Kelly Emmett and Donna Stahli both of Poughkeepsie, as well as grandchildren Kara, Brandon, Nicole, Tyler and Cheyenne, three great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 13, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, New York 12603.
A Service will follow at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 14, 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery.
