James Vincent Salerno, 86, Of Fishkill

FISHKILL, N.Y. -- James Vincent Salerno, a resident of Fishkill, died Friday, Feb.12. He was 86.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1947 and served during the Korean conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1952. After returning from service, he enrolled in college and graduated from Adelphi University. He was a chemist and worked for Stella D'Oro Biscuit Co. in the Bronx for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Dippolito; two sons, George Salerno of Fishkill and Jim Salerno Jr. of Brewster; a daughter, Lynda Weber and her husband Alan of Simbury, Conn.; two grandsons, Robert and Matthew Weber; two sisters, Julia Natarelli of West Haven, Conn., and Carmella DelBene of Fishkill; and many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by a brother, George Salerno.

Calling hours will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill Inc., 1089 Main St., Fishkill. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson St., Fishkill. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
