Born in Old Bridge, NJ on March 29, 1977, he was the son of Hector Plaza and the late Mary Louise (Greiner) Plaza.

David graduated from John Jay High School in 1995 and attended the University of Delaware.

He worked for Messineo Painting for the last 17 years, and was most recently a member of the St. Christopher’s Choir in Garrison.

David loved playing soccer. He was a member of the East Fishkill Travel Soccer Team ’77 Bombers, and as an adult, continued to play with the Men’s League for many years. In actuality, there wasn’t a sport that David didn’t love or wasn’t able to master. However, there was nothing more important to him than his family and friends.

David is survived by his father and mother, Hector and Nancy Plaza of Hopewell Junction; his siblings, Mark Plaza and Kara Menghini of Lodi, CA, Stephanie Plaza Orfanella and Jamie Orfanella of Kingston, PA, and Adam Plaza of New York City; his niece, Chloe; his nephews, Miles, Ashlan and Hunter; his grandmother, Aida Rios; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Sept. 22 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23 at noon with calling hours beginning at 11am.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Christopher’s Inn, Dutchess County SPCA or Hudson Valley Down Syndrome. Please visit David’s Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
