WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- Francis McPhillips, of Wappingers Falls died on Dec. 14. He was 89.
Born in County Monaghan, Ireland on April 25, 1927, McPhillips was the son of Francis and Mary Anne Woods McPhillips. He had a life-time career with the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company. He loved gardening and spent countless hours planting beautiful flowers.
McPhillips was a former member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. In his younger days, he sang in many clubs and at weddings in New York City. On July 25, 1953 at the Church of the Good Shepherd in New York City, Francis married Rose Gallagher who survives him.
He is also survived by his daughters, Patricia Frost and husband Thomas, Geraldine Tamweber and fiancé Kevin Komisky, Annette Terzigni, and Colleen Llamas and husband Gonzalo; his sister, Mona Blake; his grandchildren, Thomas Jr. and his wife Rachel, Daniel, Nicole, Joseph, Brian, Frankie and his wife Mikhaila, Patrick and Ryan; and his great-grandson, Thomas III.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
