WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. – Dorothy I. Pardee, a resident of Wappingers Falls, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Elant at Wappingers Falls. She was 90.
She was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Fishkill to Anthony and Regina Santsaver Messerich.
On Aug. 7, 1947, she married Edward C. "Zip" Pardee at Zion Episcopal Church.
She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls. She was an oil painter and enjoyed gardening. She enjoyed being a grandmother and often watched her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Kenneth Pardee and his wife, Sheila, of Leesburg, Fla.; Karen Kussel of Wappingers Falls; Michael Pardee and his wife, Patricia, of Hopewell Junction; and Tammy Pardee of Wappingers Falls; grandchildren Michelle Halpin, Karlee Kussel, Shawn Kussel, David Oakley and Matthew Doyle; and great-grandchildren, Blaine Halpin and Emma Halpin.
Her husband died on Oct. 8, 1994.
She also was was predeceased by her brothers, Robert, Donald and Harold Messerich.
Family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main St., Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. during the visitation.
