Amanda Hollister Of Poughkeepsie, 27, Nurse's Aide, Lourdes Grad

Amanda Rose Hollister, 27, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 18.

Born Oct. 21, 1989, she was the daughter of Peggy Butler-Valle and the late James Hollister, and the granddaughter of the late Francis (Blackie) and the late Helen Butler.

Amanda attended St. Peter's School and Our Lady of Lourdes High School. She was formerly employed at the Lutheran Care Center as a nurse's aide and was loved by all of her patients.

In addition to her mother, Amanda is survived by her stepfather, Robert Valle, Uncle and Aunt; Michael and Leslie Butler, several cousins; Katie Butler, Patrick Butler Jr., Michael Butler, Giorgina Butler, Nicole Alston and Amy Alston-Gray, sisters; Lisa Colon, Christina Hollister and Diana Hollister, several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her treasured lab "Licking Lily."

Besides her father and grandparents, she is predeceased by her Uncle Pat Butler.

Calling hours are from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 at Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, Inc. 39 S. Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel with a burial to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
