Alexander John Lasko Sr., 97, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Lifelong Poughkeepsie resident Alexander John Lasko Sr. died Thursday, July 28 at the Thompson House in Rhinebeck. He was 97.

Lasko was born March 1, 1919, in Poughkeepsie.

He retired from Western Printing after 33 years. His passions included WWE Wrestling, boxing, country and bluegrass music.

He is survived by his two sisters, Irene Cook and Ann Cardinal; and three children, Alex and Paula Lasko, Steve and Donna Lasko and Debra and Elmer Knapp.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Clinton Alliance Church, 1191 Centre Road, Rhinebeck. Burial will be for immediate family in Stanfordville Cemetery. A celebration of his life will follow the graveside service at the Clinton Alliance Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
