Participants braved the chilly, but beautiful weather, and were rewarded with inspirational speeches, visited vendor’s booths, heard performances by local groups, and walked in solidarity across the Walkway. Attendees also had the opportunity to vote for the 2016 Nonprofit of the Year from a selection of organizations chosen by the WLA.

Krista Jones — founder and executive director of the 2015 winner, Sparrow’s Nest — announced the 2016 winner: Girl Scouts – Heart of the Hudson.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to get to know the future women leaders of the Hudson Valley,” said Molly Ahearn, owner of Full Deck Design and chair of the Women’s Leadership Alliance. “Our members look forward to a year of collaboration—and perhaps some cookies!”

The Nonprofit of the Year will have their logo included on the WLA website as well as in the monthly email newsletter, 50/50 raffles for their benefit at select WLA events, as well as assistance promoting events on the WLA website and volunteer assistance for events and initiatives.
