One of the two 46-year-old men is expected to be moved to a regular room within 48 hours, said Tim Massie, senior vice president of Public Affairs and Government Relations for Health Quest, which operates the hospital.
The other man, who remains in critical, but stable condition with severe injuries, will remain in the intensive care unit, Massie said.
As previously reported by Daily Voice, the most severely injured person, a 50-year-old man died at 1 a.m. Saturday, Massie said.
The lightning strike, which occurred just before 4 p.m., reportedly hit a tree, sending electric volts through benches and the ground in the immediate area.
When rescue units arrived, they found a total of five people injured. Three were unresponsive, two were conscious, but injured, City of Poughkeepsie Detective Lt. Matt Clark said.
The two conscious victims were taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, where they are now recovering. Hospital officials declined to comment on their condition.
