The park is located along the border of Columbia County and Dutchess County and comprises two areas, Copake Falls and Rudd Pond. In an effort to reach as many members of the community as possible, the public has the option of attending meetings either in Millerton or Copake, as well as submit written comments.

The purpose of the public information meetings is to actively invite public participation and involvement in the planning process. Public participation will help in identifying issues, concerns and alternatives as well as determining the depth to which each of the topics is explored within the plan.

The first meeting will be held Wednesday, March 16 at North East-Millerton Library Annex, located at 75 Main St., Millerton. A workshop will be held at 6 p.m., followed by the information meeting at 7 p.m. Parking is available on Century Blvd., one block north of Main St., next to the Millerton Fire Department.

The second hearing will take place on Saturday, April 2, at Copake Town Hall, 230 Mountain View Road, Copake. The workshop begins at 10 a.m., followed by the information meeting at 11 a.m. Parking is available on site.

The master plan will guide park development and operation over the next decade.

More information about this process can be found on nysparks.com/inside-our-agency/master-plans.aspx.

Written comments about the plan will be accepted until April 29. Comments can be submitted by email to taconic.plan@parks.ny.gov, or by mail to Sara Hart, OPRHP Planning Bureau, 625 Broadway, 2nd Floor, Albany, N.Y., 12207.
