The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Tuesday to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 36-year-old Gregory Beverly, who has reported an address change to a residence on Mansion Street in Poughkeepsie.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Beverly a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated for lifetime registration, though he is subject to petition for relief.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Beverly had deviate sexual intercourse with his victim in June 2000 and was convicted a month later. He was arrested by the New York City Police Department's Sex Offender Unit and sentenced to four months in jail and five years probation. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Poughkeepsie City Police Department.
