The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 63-year-old Vernon Upson, who has moved to a residence on South Clinton Street in Poughkeepsie.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Upson as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Upson sexually abused his 34-year-old female victim in August 1991 and was arrested by the Poughkeepsie Town Police Department later that year. He was convicted of two counts of sexual abuse in October that year and sentenced to a term of six months in local jail and five years probation. Upson is now under the jurisdiction of the Poughkeepsie City Police Department.

Further info on Upson from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services can be accessed after entering the code in the CAPTCHA box found by clicking here.
