The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Tuesday to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 50-year-old Charles McClean, who has moved to a residence on Tompkins Terrace in Beacon.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned McClean as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, McClean committed a felony sexual offense in Kentucky in 2004 and was convicted the following year following his arrest by the Kentucky State Police Records Sex Offender Registry Unit. He allegedly had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl. McClean was sentenced to four years in state prison and is now under the jurisdiction of the Beacon City Police Department.
