ELDRED, N.Y. -- There's strong opposition to a proposed natural-gas compressor station in the Sullivan County hamlet of Eldred, according to Time Warner Cable News.

Locals worry it will "emit a large variety of toxic emissions into the air and the property" and about their properties losing value, one told Time Warner Cable News.

Opponents formed Sullivan County Residents Against Millennium - Millennium Pipeline is the company slated to build the station- and went to a town board meeting to voice opposition, reported Time Warner Cable News.

The company will address the concerns, Time Warner Cable News said.
