A registered "lifetime" sexual offender convicted of sodomizing two children has reported a move in Dutchess County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 73-year-old Richard Myers, who has reported an address change to an apartment on Lexington Avenue in Poughkeepsie.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Myers a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated for lifetime registration, though he is subject to petition for relief.
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Magnotta had deviate sexual intercourse with a 3-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl in June 1993. He was convicted of first-degree sodomy in February the following year and sentenced to a term of between two and six years in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Poughkeepsie City Police Department.
