POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Five adult students of the Abilities First School received minor injuries when the school bus they were riding in lost control and ended up in the woods, according to Town of Poughkeepsie Police Sgt. Brian Wagner.

According to Wagner police are not sure what caused the bus to skid into the wooded area off Pendell Road around 8:40 a.m. Monday.

Route 9G and Pendell Road were both closed shortly after the accident as Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department and the Fairview Fire Department worked to remove patients, police said.
