POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- New and expectant mothers can receive breastfeeding information at the Dutchess County Breastfeeding Support & Education Center in Poughkeepsie.
The Family Partnership Center is at 29 N. Hamilton St, Suite 109, Poughkeepsie.
Breastfeeding Education is available for families planning a pregnancy or expecting a baby. Programs can also be tailored to specific groups:
- Breastfeeding basics
- How to breastfeed
- What everyone should know about breastfeeding
- Returning to work
Lactation counselors provide consultation to businesses and organizations interested in promoting and providing spaces to assist new moms with a safe, comfortable place to breastfeed or pump.
There is a walk-in clinic on Fridays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Individual breastfeeding assistance and education is provided on a “walk-in” basis.
Appointments and breastfeeding support are also available by phone, Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., by calling (845)-486-3419.
