We asked for your top picks for our DVlicious “Best Soup in Dutchess County” contest and whittled it down to three finalists. Each is being profiled this week with the winner selected Monday, Feb. 22. Here’s a “bowl-ful” rundown on one of them.

Bread Alone, 45 East Market St., Rhinebeck, (845) 876-3108

Number of Soups Offered: Two daily, including vegetarian and gluten-free options. The offerings on one recent weekday afternoon were Thai curry lentil and beef and bean chili. Other soups that rotate include cauliflower and gruyere; chicken and spätzle (tiny German dumplings) and rivollita (a tomato-based veggie soup with chunks of bread).

Worth Dishing About: Bread Alone has locations in Rhinebeck, Boiceville, Woodstock, and Kingston, and is known for its freshly made organic breads; the better to dunk in your soup, of course!
