Schatzi's Pub & Bier Garden, Poughkeepsie
Number of Craft Beers: Schatzi's typically has at least 16 craft beers on tap. Owner Jeremy Phillips pointed to Sloop Brewing, Victory and Singlecut as being among his pub's most popular brews.
Why It's Liquid Gold: There's a German beer garden vibe to the place, where, in warm weather, customers spill out into the back patio. Phillips is all about keeping things fresh -- which means rotating beers constantly to keep people coming back (and being surprised). Plus, he said, our food is good. Indeed, folks on Yelp rave about its burgers, German sausage smorgasbord and pork belly sliders.
Cheers to Beers: 202 Main Street, (845) 454-1179, second location in New Paltz, www.iloveschatizs.com/.
