BEACON, N.Y. -- -- No burger or sandwich is complete without an order of fries. Whether you like them shoestring skinny, crispy and crinkled or golden brown and fried to perfection, they remain one of America's favorite sides.
DVlicious Ask: Who Has Dutchess County's Best Fries?
Brasserie 292, Poughkeepsie
Gigi Trattoria, Rhinebeck
Poppy’s Burgers, Beacon
You've chosen three finalists as the DVlicious best in Dutchess; now it's time to vote. First, though, grab some ketchup and pour over the following. Just don't blame us if you get hungry!
Fry Type: Thin cut.
What Makes Them So Addictive: Fans say they’re “super greasy,” but in the best possible way. Perfectly salted, the fries also come as light and crispy sweet potato chips, the best partner for their grass-fed beef or veggie burgers. Dipping sauces include jalapeno and pickle-mustard aioli or homemade barbecue sauce. And for something different, Poppy's does a "french fry salad" -- that's a pile of fries topped with coleslaw, onion, jalapeno peppers and bacon.
A reminder: Voting ends Tuesday, May 31 at 5 p.m. You can vote multiple times, albeit once per day.
