Fifty-two person teams of two will compete for a variety of prizes and help Grace Smith House "achieve the ultimate triumph -- helping survivors of domestic violence begin new lives."
Individuals, local businesses and other organizations are invited to register for this annual fundraiser, which will be held at the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum Pavilion, in Poughkeepsie.
Would-be champions will participate in a broad range of contests. In past years, these have included bocce, KanJam, beanbag toss, a "pit stop challenge" and more. The afternoon also includes a hearty BBQ lunch for participants.
Registration is $250 a team, and "costumes are thoroughly encouraged," organizers note. Click here to register.
The event will run from 2-7 p.m. The Mid-Hudson Children's Museum is located at 75 N. Water St.
Grace Smith House will celebrate its 35th anniversary next month, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The organizing will also be hosting a variety of events to spread awareness throughout October, and invite the community to join them in supporting victims of domestic violence.
