Celebrate Women's History With Film, Speakers In Beacon

BEACON, N.Y. -- A celebration of Women's History Month will be highlighted with a special event, "The Seed, The Herb & The Song" on Saturday, March 26 at the Howland Cultural Center in Beacon.

The guest speakers will be Executive Director Ava Bynum, Hudson Valley Seed and Master Herbalist Sarah Elisabeth.

The film, "Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai" (2008) will be shown. The film features the life and work of Nobel Peace Prize winning Kenyan Woman

Music will be provided by Goldee Greene and Friends.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. at the center, 477 Main St., Beacon.
