BEACON, N.Y. -- Blues great Debbie Davies will bring her soulful playing to the Towne Crier Café in Beacon at 8:30 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 6, according to dutchesstourism.com.
The singer, songwriter, and electric guitar player has been playing and racking up awards since the 1980’s.
In 1997 and in 2010, Davies was named Best Contemporary Female Blues Artist, according to dutchesstourism.com.
She was also the winner of the W.C. Handy Award for Best Contemporary Female Artist and the Blues Music Award for Best Traditional Female Artist.
According to Wikipedia, Davies has been featured in several female-based bands, including Maggi Mayall and the Cadilliacs and Fingers Taylor and the Ladyfingers Revue.
Besides her solo work, Davies is best known for her work with Alberts Collins’ band, The Icebreakers, Wikipedia said.
Davies’ special guest Friday will be powerful soul singer Jay Stollman, who, according to dutchesstourism.com, was called “the real deal” by the late Johnny Winter.
