Though she loves "New World" wines and believes California and Oregon have set high standards, she's naturally drawn towards French, Italian, Spanish etc. varietals. "I feel they have more depth and character," she said.
The Wappingers Falls resident rotates her wines four to five times a year. Expect new whites and rosés for spring. "Rosés has become the trend in the last few years and there are so many cool varieties," she said. Shah is also planning on adding outside seating, ideal for sipping delicious vintages and people watching.
Also big on her list: Events, including baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, and rehearsal dinners as well as once a month wine and dessert pairings. And in the works, wine cocktails.
Shah credits her wine bar's success to hard work and giving 100 percent. "My goal is to help my customers feel comfortable and relaxed, " she said. She also works hard to offer her wine knowledge.
Mainly, though, she loves Beacon. "Beacon has come very far and is changing continuously," she said. "I am loving what all the small business owners are bringing to this town. There is such a strong sense of community that everyone joins to make each other successful."
