DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain expected to arrive in the pre-dawn hours Saturday has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Weather Advisory for Dutchess.
The advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. to noon on Christmas Eve Day.
The chance of precipitation is 90 percent and new snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.
Skies will become partly cloudy Christmas Eve night with a low around 30 degrees.
Christmas Day on Sunday will be sunny with a high in the low 40s to around 45.
Freezing rain is also possible Monday afternoon into Monday night and again next Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
