A light snowfall is possible in the Mid-Hudson Valley later Saturday into Saturday night, with locally slippery travel conditions likely, according to a Hazardous Weather Statement issued early Saturday by the National Weather Service.

Following a mostly cloudy day Saturday with a high temperature around 40, there is a slight chance of rain and snow before 8 p.m, then a chance of snow.  Accumulation of less than a half an inch is possible.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for some areas north of I-90 for later Saturday into the evening, where several inches of accumulation are expected.

The outlook for New Year's Day in Dutchess calls for sunny skies and a high in the mid-40s, with a wintry mix possible on Monday.
