Tornado Confirmed In Dutchess: Find Out Where It Touched Down

There was a brief touchdown of a tornado early Wednesday night, the National Weather Service and Dutchess County Emergency Management officials announced Thursday.

It touched down in the Town of Wappinger at 7:14 p.m., just as a Tornado Warning was issued.

The tornado path began near the intersection of Maloney Road and Route 376, the National Weather Service reports. The tornado traveled due east along and just north of Maloney Road for approximately 1.25 miles before dissipating.

Damage included numerous snapped hardwood and softwood trees and the roof lifted off a shed. There were no injuries or major destruction as a result of the tornado.
