For the second straight day, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Putnam and Dutchess counties.
The latest watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday and also includes Orange and other counties. (See image above.)
Thunderstorms will be capable of heavy rainfall. Isolated flash flooding is possible, according to the National Weather Service. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and frequent lightning.
After the watch expires at 9 p.m., there is still a chance of showers and thunderstorms through 3 a.m. Sunday.
Sunday will be mostly sunny and warmer, with a high in the upper-80s.
Monday and Tuesday (Independence Day) will mainly sunny days with high temps each day in the mid-80s. There is a slight chance thunderstorms in the late afternoon or early evening Monday.
There is currently no chance for any storms on Independence Day.
