But the arrival of a La Niña could be coming in the fall.
La Niña is marked by below-average ocean temps around the equator and results in dry and warm weather in the southern U.S. states as well as wetter than normal weather throughout many Western states as well as in the Northeast starting in the fall.
Some models suggest it could be one of the strongest La Niñas on record.
Marked by a strengthening of winds in the tropics, La Niña could result in a more active hurricane season.
