An official with the Beacon school district – one of five municipal agencies in the state named in suits by Reclaim New York – said he had not heard about the lawsuit, but would “definitely be looking into it,” according to the Journal.
Based in Manhattan, Reclaim New York apparently sought files and documents related to spending during the fiscal year 2014, according to the Journal, which reported that the information was to be included in a searchable database with the goal of exposing government waste.
While alleging that its FOIL requests went unanswered, Reclaim New York said that it made several attempts to obtain the information, according to the Journal.
The Beacon school district said it plans to respond to the allegations once the “relevant information” is compiled, according to the Journal.
