Juan A. Rodriguez, 41, was picked up following an investigation by the Town of Poughkeepsie police in conjunction with the Dutchess County Office of Probation and the City of Newburgh Police Department, revealed that Rodriguez has been living at 45 Spackenkill Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie without reporting he had moved, according to Capt. Ken Roman.

Rodriguez, who served two years in prison for the 1993 rape of an 11-year-old girl using a gun, was registered to live in the City of Newburgh, police said.

As a Level-3 sex offender, Rodriguez is considered at high risk to offend again and is required to report his address every 90 days.

Rodriguez was previously convicted for failing to register as a sex offender in 2002, Roman said.

He is being held at the Dutchess County Jail without bail and is scheduled to reappear in court on Monday, March 6.
